Contemporary ceramics handcrafted from Cornish clay and foraged wild clays/materials from Devon and Dartmoor
Contemporary ceramics carefully hand crafted using local clays from Devon and Cornwall, inspired by the flora and terrain of Dartmoor.
DARTMOOR GRANITE SERIES - individual vessels with granite inclusions from the edge of Dartmoor
DARTMOOR WILD CLAY SERIES - bespoke 'art' vessels in a unique 'wild' clay, foraged near my studio on the edge of the moor. Texture and form are heavily influenced by pots from our ancient past, in particular beaker form pottery.
DARTMOOR STONE/LANDSCAPE SERIES - vessels created from a combination of mixed clays, evocative of the moorland landscape and terrain.
DARTMOOR FERN/LICHEN SERIES - a contemporary use of a traditional decorating technique to capture the delicacy and intricacy of local ferns and lichen
CORNISH STONEWARE SERIES - tactile pots with textured surfaces, thrown on my kick wheel, using beautiful grogged stoneware clay from a small clay pit in the south-west

ABOUT ME
In my remote moorland studio, I use predominently local clays to make wheel thrown, hand decorated ceramics. If you visit my Instagram account, I hope you can see how the Dartmoor terrain and flora inspires the decoration and form of my work. I feel privileged to live in this beautiful area, and to be able to spend my time making carefully hand crafted ceramics.
I have been working for over a decade, and trained formally before undertaking an apprenticeship for a year with a local potter. I make small batch ceramics, and a smaller number of unique bespoke pieces. Most of my work is high fired in an electric kiln but on occasion I use the alternative firing technique of raku.
I am a Selected Member of the Crafts Council Directory, a Selected Find A Maker member by @craftfestival and a member of the West Country Potters Association.
PROJECTS AND EVENTS
Recently I have been privileged to be supported by Arts Council England on an ongoing innovative Arts Council funded project ‘Here’s to Thee’. I have regularly been selected for and participated in a number of national and international contemporary craft events, including Art in Clay, Earth and Fire, Contemporary Craft Festival and Handmade in Britain Chelsea.

My ceramics have featured in Devon Life, Devon Today, Devon Homes, Country Homes and Interiors, Country Living, BBC Gardens Illustrated, The Telegraph, World of Interiors, Ceramics Monthly, Crafts Magazine and House and Garden.
